How Enrollment Works
We're dedicated to making the registration process as seamless as possible so you can focus on this exciting new chapter for your family. Here’s an overview of the steps and timeline:
Submit a New Student Application
The first step in enrollment is completing the New Student Enrollment Form. This form collects basic information and should take no more than 5-7 minutes to complete. In order to complete the application, you will be asked to create an account with PowerSchool, our online enrollment system.
Answer Questions and Take a Tour
After submitting an enrollment form, a Horizon Science Academy St. Paul team member will reach out to answer any questions you may have. They will also help you schedule a tour so that you can explore our facilities, meet our dedicated staff, and discover what makes our school unique.
Lottery Drawing
If student applications exceed available spots, state law requires that we hold a lottery drawing to determine who is admitted. All applicants will be notified of their status promptly after the drawing.
Provide Registration Documents Upon Acceptance
Once accepted, you’ll need to submit the required registration documents to secure your student's spot. Timely submission helps us prepare for your child’s successful start at our school.
New Student Meet & Greet
Once enrolled, Horizon Science Academy St. Paul will host a Meet & Greet for parents, guardians, and new students to connect with teachers, staff, and other new families. It’s a wonderful opportunity to get acquainted before the school year begins!

+HSA St. Paul is a tuition-free, non-selective charter public school. HSA provides state-aligned STEM-focused learning experiences. Student understanding is assessed regularly, and our expertly trained teachers ensure that students are supported or challenged appropriately at their level. Our small classes and small-school feel provide meaningful opportunities for teachers and staff to truly know students and families, which creates a unique school culture where voices are heard and valued. Students also have access to after school opportunties, such as the Concept Young Scholar Program. HSA St. Paul implements the Cognia-accredited Concept Model, along with technology that supports the shared learning goals of the educational community.
